A summa cum laude graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor of arts in psychology, Judge Amy Corrigall Jones earned a law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Admitted to the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, she began representing clients in civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels. She then spent six years in private practice, handling cases related to criminal defense, domestic relations, and personal injury litigation. Judge Amy Corrigall Jones also served as an advocate for individuals with mental illness and as a guardian ad litem for children.

In 2012 Judge Jones was elected to a six-year term with the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, then re-elected to a second term in 2018. Working with Judge Jerry K. Larson of the Akron Municipal Court, she established the Summit County Valor Court to support veterans whose transition to civilian life has led to involvement in the criminal justice system. The innovative program connects veterans with resources and treatment options to reduce recidivism rates.

Further, she created the Summit County Offender Recidivism Reduction Project (SCORR), a pilot program that reduces drug use and recidivism through positive reinforcement. Outside of work, she supports charitable organizations such as the Dapper Dan Club of Akron.
